Karachi police have arrested two suspected members of an international drug trafficking network in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, ARY News reported citing police.
According to SSP East Zubair Nazir Shaikh, police held the suspects during an operation based on confidential intelligence.
According to police, the arrested suspects, identified as Fahad and Usama, were involved in the supply of high-quality cocaine. A substantial quantity of cocaine, reportedly worth millions of rupees, was recovered from their vehicle near Gulshan Chowrangi.
Karachi police said the narcotics had been concealed inside a plastic box, while the vehicle allegedly used for drug transportation was also taken into custody.
SSP East said the suspects were using an unusual method to distribute cocaine at different locations. Members of the network would place the drugs at designated spots and share videos to communicate their locations. The suspects would then collect cocaine from various locations and supply it to different areas of Karachi.
Police further revealed that payments from drug sales were transferred through online platforms.
A case has been registered against the arrested suspects under the relevant provisions of the Narcotics Act, while efforts are underway to trace and arrest other members of the network, SSP East Zubair Nazir Sheikh said.
