HARIPUR: The body of 5-year-old Ayat Noor, who was abducted two weeks ago, has been handed over to her relatives after the post-mortem examination, ARY News reported on Tuesday, citing sources.
As per details, the body of Ayat Noor, who went missing 15 days ago from Pathan Colony in Haripur, was recovered yesterday from a well in a warehouse located on University Road.
On the basis of the suspects’ identification, the police took custody of the body and shifted it to the hospital for post-mortem and medical examination so that the exact cause of death and the alleged abuse of the girl could be confirmed.
On the day of the incident, Ayat Noor had left her home to play but did not return. On the complaint of the girl’s father, the police registered a case of kidnapping.

During the investigation, with the help of CCTV footage, five suspects involved in Ayat Noor’s abduction were identified, three of whom have been arrested.
The suspects confessed to abusing Ayat Noor and then disposing of her body. Efforts are under way to arrest the two absconding suspects.
After the body was handed over, Ayat Noor’s relatives and local residents placed the girl’s body on GT Road and staged a strong protest, demanding justice.
