Gandapur vows to hold ‘conspirators’ accountable

Ali AMin Gandapur

PESHAWAR: Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has said that he will hold those responsible for alleged conspiracies against him accountable once PTI founder Imran Khan is released from prison.

Speaking exclusively to ARY News programme 11th Hour, Gandapur said, “When the PTI founder comes out from jail, I will hold those who conspired against me accountable.”

He said several conspiracies, groupings and misleading narratives had been launched against him. “I have sent messages to the PTI founder several times about the two misleading perceptions created against me. One of these narratives was that I had given money to the federal government in connection with finances,” he said.

Gandapur added that he had repeatedly sent the name of former KP finance adviser Muzammil Aslam to convey to Imran Khan that funds were being provided to the province from the endowment fund.

Responding to a question about sharing the container with the alleged conspirators during PTI’s planned protest on September 27, Gandapur questioned whether he would “conspire against himself again” by standing with those he alleged had conspired against him.

He said that despite what he described as conspiracies and inappropriate behaviour against him, he had not taken action against anyone because the release of Imran Khan and the party’s ongoing movement were more important to him.

The former chief minister also said that he had received his last message from Imran Khan after stepping down as chief minister. According to Gandapur, the message stated that even if the government was removed or governor’s rule was imposed, drone attacks should not take place.

Speaking about KP CM Sohail Afridi, Gandapur said he considered him like a younger brother and had also played a role in securing a party ticket for him.

He said Afridi was initially not being awarded a ticket by the parliamentary board, but he intervened and advocated for him, after which Afridi was given the ticket. He added that Afridi was later also inducted into the provincial cabinet.
