LAHORE: In a historic move led by Sports Minister Faisal Ayub, Punjab has included students in a sports advisory board for the first time in the province’s history, ARY News reported.

The Provincial Minister chaired a meeting of the Punjab Sports Board, during which he stated that the youth will now play a direct role in shaping sports policy.

Faisal Ayub emphasized that sports quotas will be strictly implemented across public colleges and universities, as well as private institutions throughout the province.

He further announced the establishment of a dedicated complaint redressal cell for players, noting that all members of the newly formed advisory board will hold full decision-making powers and be integrated into their respective sports committees.

The advisory board has been established for a one-year term, with youth recommendations directly informing planning and policy.

Additionally, the minister highlighted plans to set world records during the upcoming Youth Games running from September to November.

For the first time, Punjab is also set to build a state-of-the-art sports city, providing modern, world-class athletic facilities under one roof.
