Ibrahim, Waqar handed over to police

City court

KARACHI: Police on Saturday presented the culprits involved in the assault on Ali Jafri in Defence Housing Authority before a local court, ARY News reported.

The police have registered a case regarding the torture of a youth, Ali Jafri, in Defence Housing Authority (DHA). Later, the police arrested two suspects, Ibrahim and Waqar.

The court handed over the suspects to the police on a three-day physical remand.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Asad Raza stated that Jafri recorded his statement with the police. “My family and I were threatened, and I don’t know why I was subjected to inhumane torture,” Jafri said, adding that he does not know his assailants and simply wants justice.

Five people have been nominated in the case, of whom two—Ibrahim Malik and Waqar—have been arrested by the police.

According to the victim’s teacher, Abdullah Jamal, a friend named Faisal introduced Ali to the group, who then took him to Sea View and subjected him to severe violence.
