KARACHI, September 6, 2026: Numaish Chowrangi has been closed for traffic from all sides due to security concerns, the Karachi Traffic Police spokesperson told ARY News.
Traffic heading towards Numaish is being diverted to alternative routes. Vehicles coming from Capri are being directed towards Nasra School.
According to the traffic police, traffic coming from Guru Mandir is being diverted towards Banoria Town and Soldier Bazaar, while vehicles arriving from Shahrah-e-Quaideen are being directed from Society Office towards Allah Wali Chowrangi.
Similarly, traffic coming from Britto Road and Soldier Bazaar No. 3 is being diverted towards Soldier Bazaar No. 1.
Meanwhile, police officials said additional personnel have been deployed around Mazar-e-Quaid.
The District East administration has also announced that no public gathering, procession or rally of any kind will be allowed around Mazar-e-Quaid.
It said legal action would be taken if people gather without permission.
According to the District East administration, rallies, demonstrations and processions are prohibited inside the Mazar-e-Quaid premises under the law protecting the sanctity of the mausoleum.
Political activities are also legally prohibited within 10 feet of the outer wall of the Mazar-e-Quaid premises, the administration said.
The Deputy Commissioner East warned that violations of the Mazar-e-Quaid law could result in up to three years in prison, a fine, or both.
The district administration said legal action would also be taken against anyone who violates the restrictions and holds a gathering despite the ban.
Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary crowds around Mazar-e-Quaid.
