The lawyer representing the family of slain Mir Raza has accused the police and the government of failing to properly investigate the murder and alleged that officials who compromised the investigation have faced no action.
Speaking after a court hearing, lawyer Jibran Nasir said the authorities’ objective appeared to be to protect those responsible for the killing.
He alleged that officers who attempted to prevent this were being suspended or removed from their positions.
Nasir also claimed that the police were in possession of the mobile phones of all witnesses in the case, including their passwords.
He alleged that investigators were selectively providing screenshots from the phones to the media.
He further said that medico-legal officer (MLO) Dr Osama had told a commission that his own mobile phone had been in police custody since 19 August 2026.
Earlier, Dr Osama, who conducted the first post-mortem examination of Mir Raza, made serious allegations against police surgeon Dr Summaiya in an interview with ARY News.
