Saudi Aramco has completely restarted the strategic East-West pipeline after suspending operations for safety reasons following recent drone attacks on the Kingdom’s main strategic pumping stations.
The company said on 19 October that the incidents had temporarily interrupted pipeline operations.

Saudis moved swiftly to run emergency procedures to isolate the rupture, check the integrity of the pipeline system and carry out repairs. The state oil company said the pipeline was returned to full operating capacity as soon as it was determined to be safe.
The East-West pipeline is critical to global oil supply chains, enabling the Kingdom to channel 5 million barrels of crude a day via Red Sea terminals, and avoiding the intricacies of the Strait of Hormuz, and maritime route to Western and other customers.
