KARACHI: CCTV footage of a robbery involving a food delivery rider near Race Course, Safoora Chowrangi has surfaced, ARY News reported.
According to reports, the CCTV footage shows two armed robbers looting the food delivery rider outside a house near Race Course.
The footage shows the robbers spending more than two minutes carrying out the robbery. They snatched the rider’s mobile phone, cash and other documents.
One of the robbers also took a food parcel from the delivery box and placed it in his own bag.
The robber then started the delivery rider’s motorcycle and attempted to take it away. However, after seeing the rider crying, he returned the motorcycle.
The incident took place at around 4am. The robbers fled through the same route from where they had arrived.
In a similar incident a young man was robbed at gunpoint by armed motorcyclists in Karachi, with the incident captured on CCTV.
The incident took place in the 13-D area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, where the suspects stopped the man outside his cousin’s home and took his motorcycle and valuables.
The victim, Muhammad Siddiq, a Hafiz-e-Quran and a student at the University of Karachi, said he was about to enter his cousin’s house when two men on a motorcycle approached him.
He said the suspects threatened him with a gun and took his motorcycle, an expensive watch and wallet before fleeing the scene.
A police case has been registered at the Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station, and an investigation is under way.
Muhammad Siddiq said the CCTV footage clearly shows the suspects’ faces and could help police identify and track them down.
He has urged authorities to take immediate action and arrest those responsible.
