US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the war with Iran will end soon and that oil prices will drop sharply once the conflict is over.
While leaving for the Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club in Chicago, Trump told reporters he expects oil prices to start falling as soon as Iran surrenders and the war ends, which he believes will happen soon. He also said prices would drop significantly.
He added that almost all prices have fallen significantly.
Trump took a jab at former President Joe Biden, saying, “Oil was cheaper than it had been under the Biden administration.”
The White House Chief also claimed that food prices in the United States have dropped sharply compared to when Joe Biden was president.
He mentioned that the United States was exporting huge volumes of oil and had moved a record amount through the Strait of Hormuz the previous night, more than at any point before the war began.
Trump also said, “We have the best poverty numbers in the history of our country, less poverty than at any time, and we have the best income numbers per individual in the history of our country. People are making more money than they have ever made before.”
It is worth noting that the US president has often said the war in the Middle East will end soon.
However, people close to Trump have told the media that he plans to continue fighting until Tehran agrees to key concessions, including on nuclear weapons.
