LAHORE: Police have identified five alleged suspects, including two women, in a case involving the alleged gang rape of an Azerbaijani woman in Lahore, while the victim’s medical examination has been completed, ARY News reported.
According to police, 15 people have been taken into custody on suspicion, while interrogation of suspected facilitators allegedly linked to the suspects is under way.
Police said they have recovered the vehicle allegedly used by the suspects. A white car was allegedly used to trap and take the woman, while the vehicle used in the incident is reportedly owned by alleged suspect Tanveer.
Police also detained family members of suspects Mohsin and Tanveer. The three people taken into custody are relatives of the suspects, according to police.
The suspects were detained from a private housing society within the limits of Sunder police station and from Defence.
The Crime Control Department (CCD), Operations and Investigation Police are taking part in efforts to arrest the suspects. Police raids are under way in different areas.
Police said Muskan and her accomplices are among the suspects who remain at large.
Police operations to arrest the main suspects are also under way in other cities.
