LAHORE: The Punjab government has imposed ban over flying drones with enforcement of Section 144 across the province, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
The Home Department of Punjab, in a notification, has imposed a complete ban over flying drones in outdoor for 30 days under section 144.
The government has imposed ban on flying drones owing to security concerns.
However, limited use of small drones has been permitted during indoor events at halls and marquees. A home department spokesperson stated that the event organisers will be responsible for ensuring the safe use of drones during indoor functions.
Intelligence agencies and the law enforcement institutions would be exempted from the provincial ban.
The home department Punjab has constituted the safe drone usage committees on district level for issuance of permission.
The secretary home department has imposed ban on drone operations under the section 144-VI of the criminal procedure code 1898.
The administration and police across the province have been directed to enforce the orders.
