ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has expressed concern over the ‘secret arrival’ of a doctor from London to examine the party founder and former prime minister Imran Khan.

In a statement issued by the party, PTI said that the government had brought in a specialist doctor from London to conduct a medical examination of PTI founder Imran Khan, while keeping the party leadership and his family uninformed about his health condition.

The statement said that PTI demanded the immediate transfer of its founder to Shifa International Hospital for medical treatment.

PTI leader Sheikh Waqas Akram said that preventing Imran Khan’s personal physicians from accessing him was a matter of concern. He urged the government to demonstrate political wisdom and prevent the situation from deteriorating further.

It is pertinent to note that, regarding Imran Khan’s treatment, Rana Sanaullah had said that all necessary measures were taken in accordance with the Supreme Court’s directions.

He said PTI founder Imran Khan was taken to a hospital, where he was examined by a medical board.

He added that the court’s directives—including facilitating a telephone conversation and meeting with his children—were also followed, and a report detailing the entire process was submitted to the court.

Responding to a question about why Imran Khan was not transferred to Shifa International Hospital, Rana Sanaullah said that the reasons had also been presented before the court.

According to him, the same doctors who had examined Imran Khan at Shifa Hospital conducted his medical examination and declared him healthy.
