Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member of the National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat says the federal government has two options: either disqualify Sohail Afridi as the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) or allow former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur to return to power.
Speaking exclusively to ARY News, the PTI leader said a government led by Gandapur would deepen divisions within the party.
He also suggested that the governor’s rule in KP might not be extended, predicting that the provincial assembly could be restored within two months.
Sher Afzal Marwat warned that the political consequences of imposing governor’s rule would ultimately be blamed on the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Commenting on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, he said the Maulana had consistently played the role of a pressure group in politics.
He added that Fazlur Rehman did not remain allied with political partners once his objectives had been achieved.
