ISLAMABAD, August 25, 2026: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said that Jamaat-e-Islami’s protest has become a source of embarrassment and the party should announce its end itself, ARY News reported.
Speaking on the programme ‘Khabar’, the PML-N leader said the issue over which Jamaat-e-Islami started its protest was a problem for 22 crore out of 25 crore people. He said JI workers attend offices in the morning and perform duties at the sit-in in the evening.
Rana Sanaullah claimed that the public had rejected the Jamaat-e-Islami sit-in.
Responding to a question, he said Bilawal Bhutto had stated that the PPP would not cooperate until its reservations were addressed, but the party had said it would support important legislation and did so the very next day.
Rana Sanaullah said the government would contact the PPP, adding that two meetings had already been held with its team and another meeting would take place tomorrow. He said Nayar Bukhari, Sherry Rehman, Qamar Zaman Kaira and Raja Pervaiz were sensible people.
He said the government would sit with the PPP delegation and address its reservations.
Speaking about JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Rana Sanaullah said he was a sensible person who never practised politics of conflict. He always tried to take matters in a better direction, he added.
On the issue of new provinces, the PML-N leader said the majority of Sindh’s population did not want the province divided and did not want Karachi to be separated.
He said it was wrong to claim that the PPP was conspiring. The issue of new provinces should be debated in Parliament and every step should be taken politically.
Rana Sanaullah said talk shows and speeches on new provinces and administrative units would worsen the situation. If the matter escalated, Bilawal Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari understood what needed to be done. He said they would lose their importance if they did not stand with the people.
