RAWALPINDI: A nine-year-old madrasa student was allegedly beaten to death by his teacher at a seminary in Kallar Syedan tehsil of Rawalpindi, police said on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Faizan, son of Sultan. Police said the child’s body bore multiple marks of severe physical assault.
According to police, the incident occurred inside a madrasa within the jurisdiction of Kallar Syedan police station. The child was allegedly subjected to severe beating before his death.
Police said madrasa management attempted to conceal the murder by bathing the child’s body after his death. The matter came to light after his family witnessed the torture marks on his body and informed the police.
Police immediately reached the madrasa and arrested two suspects. The body was shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination, police said.
A case has been registered against three people, including Qari Sanaullah, who fled the scene. Two suspects have been arrested.
The child’s body was handed over to his family after the post-mortem examination.
Police said the post-mortem report, which will provide further details regarding the alleged assault and the cause of death, is awaited.

Earlier, in another case, police arrested Faisal Asghar, husband of 45-year-old Hina Javed, in her alleged murder in Rawalpindi.
The incident took place at Askari Apartments in the Lalkurti area, within the jurisdiction of the Civil Lines Police Station.
According to the FIR registered on the complaint of Hina’s brother, her body was found in the bathroom of the residence. Police have also arrested the domestic worker, identified as Zeeshan.
Her hands were allegedly tied behind her back, a cloth was stuffed into her mouth and a wire was tied around her neck.
Hina had married Faisal Asghar, son of retired Colonel (r) Asghar Ali Fayyaz, in November 2025.
