ISLAMABAD: Met office has forecast another spell of rainfall with strong winds and thunderstorm in upper parts of the country from Thursday, September 03 (tomorrow).
Monsoon currents are penetrating upper parts of the country, while a westerly wave is also affecting the region and likely to strengthen on 04th and 05th September, according to the weather report.
Met Office has predicted rain with wind/thundershower, with isolated heavy falls Kashmir from 03rd to 06th September with occasional gaps.
Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat and other parts of upper Punjab expected to receive rainfall, with isolated heavy falls on 04th and 05th September.
Rain is also predicted in Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Narowal and other areas of Punjab.
Rainfall with wind and thundershower with scattered heavy to very heavy falls at times expected in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa from 03rd to 05th September.
Rainfall is also expected with isolated heavy falls in Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar from 03rd to 06th September with occasional gaps.
In Balochistan rain with wind/thunderstorm is expected in Zhob, Bar khan, Musakhel and surroundings.
Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in low lying areas of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Faisalabad and Lahore on 04th & 05th September.
Heavy rainfall may cause flash flooding in local streams/ Nullahs in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Malakand, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad and Rawalpindi during the forecast period.
Landslides may occur in hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree, Galliyat and Kashmir during the forecast period.
