KARACHI: A local court on Tuesday granted interim bail to the main accused, Ibrahim Sathi, in connection with the inhuman torture of Ali Jafri in Defence Housing Authority (DHA), ARY News reported.

The court ordered the accused to submit surety bonds worth Rs 100,000.

According to the FIR registered by the complainant, Ali Jafri, Ibrahim Sathi and four accomplices kidnapped him and subjected him to brutal torture. The report states that the attackers used a baseball bat, shaved his head, and forcibly fed him items.

The suspects also filmed the entire ordeal, according to the FIR. Two of the accomplices, Malik Ibrahim and Waqas, are currently in police custody. The complainant further stated that the main accused had referred to himself as the “butcher of Tauheed Commercial.”

Earlier, two more alarming cases have surfaced involving the absconding suspects behind the brutal torture of Ali Jafri in Karachi’s Defence area.

The suspects reportedly targeted the homes of two residents, attacking the house of Usman Imran on August 1 and Hadi’s residence on August 7.

According to Usman Imran, the armed attack on his home occurred at 6:00 AM on August 1—just a day after the assault on Ali Jafri. “Ibrahim accused me of leaking the viral videos of Ali Jafri,” Usman stated, adding that nine armed individuals arrived at his doorstep.

The armed group included Ibrahim Malik, Waqar, and another individual named Ibrahim, who were carrying sharp weapons.

Usman recounted that Ibrahim Malik demanded he come outside, and shortly after, six more people scaled the walls of his floor using ladders. The intruders fled on three motorcycles downward when Usman went to wake his elder brother, Suleman Imran.

Meanwhile, Hadi recounted a separate ordeal, stating that he was assaulted from behind by Usman Baloch and Ibrahim Malik while two other suspects attacked him.

Hadi alleged that when he attempted to register an FIR at the Darakhshan Police Station, officers directed him to the Clifton Police Station instead. Although he has submitted an application at the Clifton station, no case has been registered yet.
