PSX market closes lower as KSE-100 index dips over 1,700 points

The trading session in the Pakistan stock market (PSX) closed lower on Thursday, 24 September, 2026, as the benchmark KSE-100 index fell by 1,733.57 points or 1.01 percent to close at 170,498.95, compared with the previous close of 172,232.51.

According to PSX data, the index moved between an intraday high of 172,491.17 and a low of 170,418.38.

Trading remained active, with 759,974,194 million shares changing hands in the regular market, compared with 773,593,742 million shares in the previous session.

The value of shares traded rose to Rs.27,539,926,430, from Rs. 26,453,393,949 previously.

Market capitalization fell to Rs.18,971,042,131,404, compared with Rs. 19,178,716,735,687 in the previous session.

In the Ready Market, 358 companies closed lower, while 101 gained and 36 remained unchanged, out of 495 companies.
