Pakistan will face Hong Kong, China, in the first quarter-final of the men’s cricket competition at the Asian Games 2026, with the last-eight clash scheduled at Korogi Sports Park on Monday.
The quarter-final line-up was confirmed after Hong Kong, China finished second in Group B with two points from two matches.
Oman, who were sitting at the bottom of the group, saw their final league fixture against group leaders Malaysia abandoned without a ball being bowled at Korogi Sports Park, confirming Hong Kong’s progression to the knockout stage.
Pakistan, meanwhile, secured a direct place in the quarter-finals based on their ranking, alongside arch-rivals India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
The second quarter-final will see India take on Afghanistan on Monday afternoon, while Nepal will meet Sri Lanka in the third quarter-final on Tuesday morning.
Malaysia, which topped Group B with three points, will face Bangladesh in the fourth quarter-final at the same venue on Tuesday afternoon.
Notably, India enter the knockout stage as the defending champions, having won the gold medal at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou after defeating Afghanistan in the final.
Bangladesh claimed the bronze medal in Hangzhou after beating Pakistan in the third-place playoff.
The four quarter-final winners will advance to the semi-finals, which are scheduled to be played on October 1. The bronze-medal playoff and gold-medal match will then take place on October 3, when the Asian Games men’s cricket competition will conclude.
