RAWALPINDI: The Peshawar Motorway M-1 has been reopened to all types of traffic after remaining closed for five days, ARY News reported on Monday.
According to the National Highways and Motorway Police, the M-1 Motorway between Islamabad and Peshawar has been fully restored for traffic in both directions.
A Motorway Police spokesperson said rehabilitation work on the M-14 Motorway between Hakla and Kundal is still underway. Restoration work is also continuing on the loop (connecting road) linking the M-1 Motorway with the Hazara Motorway.
According to the spokesperson, traffic travelling from Islamabad to Abbottabad via the M-1 can exit at the Burhan Interchange, use the GT Road via Hasan Abdal, and then rejoin the Hazara Expressway at the Jhary Kas Interchange.

The N-5 GT Road between Islamabad and Peshawar is also open to all types of traffic. However, rehabilitation work is still underway at some interchanges along the Peshawar M-1 Motorway.
On September 22, the federal government announced the closure of Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway M-1 from September 23.
According to the motorway police spokesperson, the M-1 will remain closed to all traffic in both directions from Islamabad Toll Plaza to Chachh Interchange.
The Tarnol, Sangjani, Brahma Bahter and Burhan interchanges will also remain closed from tomorrow evening.
