Sehat Dehleez

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has launched a telehealth application, “Sehat Dehleez,” to provide free medical consultations with qualified doctors to people across the province, particularly those living in remote areas.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced the initiative in a statement on X, saying the service had received an encouraging response during its first 24 hours of operation.

According to Bugti, the platform received 791 consultation calls on its first day, while 495 consultations were completed. A total of 718 calls included location information, and the service reached people in 35 districts across Balochistan.

He said the initiative was aimed at making healthcare more accessible to people in remote areas who face difficulties reaching medical facilities, particularly during extreme weather conditions.

“The overwhelming response to Sehat Dehleez across Balochistan is a clear reflection of the trust and confidence of our people,” Bugti said, adding that the government was working towards building a healthier and stronger province.

The chief minister said the application offered free consultations with qualified doctors around the clock, covering general health, maternal and child health, and guidance on common illnesses.

The initiative has been introduced by the People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) Balochistan to improve access to timely medical advice through digital technology.

According to PPHI Balochistan, the platform enables residents to consult doctors from their homes, reducing the need for travel, particularly for people living in areas where access to healthcare facilities is limited.

The service also aims to provide health awareness and guidance on common illnesses, with a focus on maternal and child healthcare.

PPHI Balochistan said the telehealth initiative was designed to make healthcare services more accessible, convenient and responsive to public needs through digital technology.

Residents can access the Sehat Dehleez service through its web application and Android app by scanning the QR codes provided by the organisation.

The initiative marks an effort to expand digital healthcare services across Balochistan and improve access to medical consultation for residents throughout the province.
