Consumers can now pay power bills and all kinds of demand notices by scanning codes printed on the documents, thanks to a QR code-based payment system introduced by the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO).

According to IESCO CEO Engineer Khalid Mahmood, the facility will facilitate quicker and simpler payments while encouraging accuracy and openness in the collection process.

Consumers must open their mobile wallet or online banking app, scan the QR code on their original bill or demand notice, confirm the amount owed, and finish the transaction in order to make a payment.

The facility is open seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day.

Mahmood recommended that consumers only scan the QR codes included on demand notices and original IESCO bills. Additionally, he advised them to thoroughly review the payment details before completing any transactions.
