PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to increase toll rates on the Swat Expressway Phase-I by 20 percent.

The proposal to increase the toll rates was included in the agenda of the 57th meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet and was scheduled to be presented for approval. However, the cabinet meeting scheduled for August 21 was postponed.

The proposed increase in toll rates for Swat Expressway Phase-I will be subject to approval by the provincial cabinet.

Under the proposed 20 percent increase, the toll tax will rise from Rs270 to Rs324.

The government has proposed the increase as part of the revision of toll rates for Swat Expressway Phase-I.

Earlier, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) launched online registration and licensing facilities for tourism-related businesses across the province.

The BMIS Portal is the digital licensing and management information system operated by the Tourist Services Wing (TSW) of KPCTA. It enables tourism businesses to apply for, track, and download their official digital licenses online.

The online registration facility is available for hotels, restaurants, guest houses, cafés, travel and tour operators, rent-a-car services, ticketing businesses, and tourist guides.
