KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the law and order situation in Korangi and directed the provincial police chief to launch an immediate investigation into the incident.
Unidentified individuals reportedly created unrest near Korangi Crossing, where several motorcycles were set on fire.
The chief minister ordered authorities to take indiscriminate action against those involved in creating unrest and directed police to ensure that the situation in Korangi remains under control.
Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah also ordered the immediate arrest of individuals who allegedly set several motorcycles on fire near Korangi Crossing.
He instructed the Inspector General of Police to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and submit a detailed report.
“Miscreants will not be allowed to disrupt the peace of the city,” the chief minister said, directing police to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
He also ordered police to intensify patrolling in Korangi and adjoining areas, stressing that there would be no compromise on public safety and the maintenance of law and order.
Unrest was reported in Karachi’s Korangi Crossing area early morning during JI’s strike call.
Police personnel reached the scene following the incident, while tensions were reported in the area. Businesses were also closed amid the situation.
According to sources, tyres were set ablaze on roads leading to and from Korangi Crossing, disrupting traffic and movement in the area.
Sources said unidentified individuals arrived at the location and began creating a disturbance shortly afterwards.
