The city traffic police in Faisalabad, Pakistan, have issued new guidance for motorcycle riders regarding vehicle number plates.
According to the police, motorcyclists will no longer be charged a fee for a number plate issued by the Excise Department.
Citizens owned motorcycles can instead have their number plates made themselves, according to the design and specifications set by the Excise Department.
The number plate must be made of white metal, inscribed with embossed black letters and numbers clearly displayed.
Police said the approved dimensions are: Long plate: 205 × 70mm and square plate: 200 × 170mm.
Motorcycle owners have been advised to ensure their vehicles carry number plates that meet the required size and quality standards.
The traffic police also urged riders to avoid non-standard number plates and comply with traffic regulations to help ensure safer travel.
