A citizen in Karachi has reportedly been robbed of Rs.29,000 after fraudsters offered to help him withdraw cash from an ATM. The CCTV video of the incident surfaced.
The incident took place a few days ago at an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) of a private bank in Gulistan-e-Johar.
The victim was reportedly approached and asked to withdraw money. When the transaction failed, the victim checked his bank card.
During the process, the suspects allegedly watched the victim enter his PIN.
The fraudsters then made it appear as though the card had become stuck inside the ATM. The victim eventually left the machine, believing that his card was locked inside.
Shortly afterwards, Rs.29,000 was withdrawn from his bank account. CCTV footage reportedly shows the suspects operating as a group.
Police have registered a case involving theft and fraud at the Shahrah-e-Faisal police station.
