ISLAMABAD: Khawaja Saad Rafique on Saturday said that a robust local government system should be introduced first before carving out any small provinces.
“Form small provinces but don’t turn the issue into an infighting,” PML-N leader said.
“Firstly, form such a parliament, no one can object to,” he said. “Avoid turning the parliamentary democracy into dictatorship, the country will start running smoothly,” PML-N leader advised.
“Bring any system, if the constitution will be violated repeatedly, nothing will function smoothly, what number of provinces you carve out,” he further said.
He said that all institutions should accept the constitution adding that an independent and impartial election commission is also necessary.
Saad Rafique said, “Now the time has ripe to give serious consideration to the proportional representation”.
