KARACHI: Two suspected terrorists belonging to the banned Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) were killed during a joint operation by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and law enforcement agencies in Karachi, officials said on Saturday.
According to CTD officials, the operation was conducted in the Ghazi Goth area of Manghopir, where an exchange of fire took place between security personnel and the suspected terrorists.
The two suspects were killed during the encounter. The CTD claimed that both belonged to the BLF.
The deceased were identified as 23-year-old Yahya and 28-year-old Hilal, officials said. A Kalashnikov and a pistol were recovered from their possession, according to the CTD.
The bodies of the suspected terrorists were shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
11 terrorists killed in Balochistan
In an earlier development, security forces killed 11 terrorists belonging to Fitna-al-Hindustan during operations in Balochistan’s Panjgur and Chagai districts, security sources said on Saturday.
The operations were conducted under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3 as security forces continued action against terrorists in different areas of the province.
According to security sources, five terrorists were killed during an operation in the Gwargo area of Panjgur district. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from their possession.
11 terrorists killed in Panjgur, Chagai operations
Meanwhile, security forces conducted operations in the Aminabad and Siah Chang areas of Chagai district, killing six terrorists.
A significant quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosive material was also recovered during the operations, according to the sources.
Security forces have continued operations against terrorists in Balochistan under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, with further clearance activities ongoing in the affected areas.
