A new traffic safety advisory has been issued by safety professionals in Kuwait who have reinforced the importance of observing guidelines for child passengers.
Major Musaed Al-Aslawi, Head of the Traffic Awareness Department at the Ministry of Interior, noted that seatbelt use is mandatory for all vehicle occupants including children in the latest highway safety message issued on Kuwait Radio. Additional driver advice related to the loading of vehicles at home and school pickup points aimed to keep young passengers safe, he said.
Child safety rules Primary drivers and child passengers should always remember that: Kids under 10 years old need to travel in the rear seat of any passenger vehicle.
Young passengers should be adequately secured in seats appropriate to their size. Complete use of seatbelts for all vehicle riders is mandatory at all times.
Roadside and School Zone Safety Tips for Caregivers and Parents Kids should always sit in the curbside door when other travelers and vehicles are present, rather than getting out on the travel lane side of the vehicle.
Never walk or allow children to cross the street alone outside of congested areas or school zones.
