ISLAMABAD: Multiple new features have been introduced on the Pak Hajj App to facilitate intending Hajj pilgrims, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Pilgrims can now modify their Hajj package duration and accommodation arrangements from home.
The ministry said pilgrims can choose between two-bed, three-bed, family-room or shared accommodation through the app without visiting an office.
A facility has also been introduced to allow pilgrims to switch from a long Hajj package to a short package, or from a short package to a long package.
The process of obtaining and printing medical fitness certificates through the Pak Hajj App is currently underway, the Ministry of Religious Affairs said.
Pilgrims will have to print the certificate and get it verified by an authorised doctor. After verification, the fitness certificate must be uploaded again through the app or online portal.
Overseas Pakistanis can also obtain the certificate from a doctor near them and upload it to the app, the ministry said. Pilgrims can also apply for a mahram or helper under the hardship quota through the app.

A facility has additionally been introduced for cancellation of Hajj applications and refunds in cases of genuine necessity, according to the ministry.
Multiple Hajj-related services are now available to pilgrims from home, eliminating the need to visit offices, stand in queues or wait for services. The Ministry of Religious Affairs said Hajj facilities are now available with just a click.
Meanwhile, bookings under the private Hajj scheme are continuing through the National IT Board’s digital portal. The ministry has warned that private Hajj bookings or payments outside the official Hajj portal are not permitted.
A total of 26,000 applications under the private Hajj scheme have been completed, while 45,000 seats are still available, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
