The security forces of Pakistan have eliminated four militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Dera Ismail Khan, according to security sources.
According to the security sources, the operation was carried out under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision, in which four militants of Fitna-Al Khawarij were killed.
Security officials said the forces had been closely monitoring the militants’ movements before targeting them.
A large quantity of weapons and ammunition, along with Afghan currency, was recovered from the militants, the officials said.
The authorities said security forces remained committed to eliminating militant activity and maintaining lasting peace in the country.

Earlier, a terrorist accused of killing three young cricket players in Lakki Marwat was shot dead during a joint operation by police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Abdul Khel, police said.
The terrorist named Manzoor, was involved in the attack on the cricket players and was wanted in several serious terrorism cases.
According to police, a joint police and CTD operation was conducted in Abdul Khel village in Lakki Marwat, following the attack. During an exchange of fire, Manzoor was killed.
Lakki Marwat District Police Officer Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada confirmed the death of the terrorist and said police had taken custody of his body.
The DPO said Manzoor was wanted by the CTD Bannu Division in seven serious terrorism cases. Police alleged that he was also involved in the killing of three cricket players.
The joint operation continued for several hours, after which the CTD launched a large-scale search operation in the area to locate and arrest other suspected terrorists.
