SNGPL announces temporary gas outage in Multan

The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) in Pakistan has announced the temporary suspension of Sui Gas supply in parts of Multan on Thursday, 1 October 2026.

According to the SNGPL announcement, the interruption is due to maintenance work on a main gas pipeline at the Canal Crossing in the city’s Mailsi area.

The interruption will begin at 06:00 AM and continue until 09:30 PM, according to SNGPL.

The affected areas listed in the notice include Tibba Sultan Pur, Metla Chowk (Thatta Sadiqabad), Mailsi, Dunyapur, Karor Pakka, and surrounding areas.

Residents in the affected areas have been advised to make arrangements in advance, as gas supplies will remain unavailable during the maintenance work.

The notice also asks consumers to ensure that gas appliances are switched off during the interruption to help prevent accidents when supply is restored.

Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited is a Pakistani state-owned gas distribution company based in Lahore.

SNGPL is the largest integrated gas company serving more than 7.22 million consumers in north-central Pakistan through an extensive network in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

The main transmission regions of SNGPL are Faisalabad, Lahore, Multan, and Wah. The maximum diameter used in the transmission pipelines is around 42 inches.

The company has 16 distribution regions.
