RAWALPINDI: At least 18 terrorists of Fitna al Khawarij and Hindustan have been killed in separate security operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, ARY News reported on Wednesday, citing well-placed sources.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision, killing 13 terrorists, according to security sources.

The sources said security forces targeted terrorists’ hideouts in North Waziristan and surrounding areas after maintaining continuous surveillance of terrorists’ movements.

Meanwhile, five terrorists were killed during a security operation against Fitna al-Hindustan in the Siyapast and Killi Gashtari areas of Mastung, Balochistan, under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, security sources confirmed.

A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the militants killed during the operation, according to the sources.

Clearance and search operations are currently underway in the area to eliminate any remaining militants, the sources added.

Security forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism and establishing lasting peace and will continue operations against militants across Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

On September 18, security forces killed 17 Fitna al-Khawarij and Hindustan terrorists in separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

According to ISPR, six security personnel were martyred on September 17 when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated during an operation.

According to the military’s media wing, 10 terrorists were killed during separate operations in North Waziristan and Hangu. The ISPR said the terrorists belonged to the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan-linked group referred to by authorities as Fitna al-Khawarij and that they were operating with Indian support.

A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the militants, the ISPR said. Clearance operations are continuing in the areas to eliminate any remaining militants.
