Xbox has clarified that Grand Theft Auto 6 will not be available to PC players through Xbox Cloud Gaming when the highly anticipated title launches on November 19, 2026.

The clarification follows reports that Microsoft had secured streaming rights for the game, prompting speculation that PC users could access GTA 6 through cloud gaming without waiting for a dedicated PC release.

Xbox Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball addressed the reports, saying the company had seen some “misreporting” surrounding the game.

He confirmed that GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on Xbox on November 19, but said it would not be streamed exclusively or to PC.

The clarification means PC players will not have a cloud-streaming workaround at launch. Rockstar Games has so far officially listed PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the launch platforms for GTA 6, with no PC version announced.

The confusion emerged after an earlier report suggested Xbox had obtained exclusive streaming rights for GTA 6. Xbox subsequently clarified that the arrangement was not exclusive and that PC streaming would not be supported.

GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, with Rockstar describing the game as a new story set in the fictional state of Leonida and centred on protagonists Jason and Lucia.

For PC gamers, the latest clarification leaves the platform without an announced launch-day version of GTA 6, meaning they will have to wait for Rockstar to provide further details about a potential PC release.
