The IKEA Stengrönska is a new alarm clock that also measures temperature and humidity. It recently became available on IKEA’s websites in Japan and China.
It is officially known as the IKEA Stengrönska alarm clock with hygro-/thermometer, black. The clock is designed for desks or bedside tables, and the display shows the time in 12 or 24-hour format, plus the date and day of the week.
The screen’s bottom right corner shows the room’s temperature and humidity from built-in sensors. The display has a backlight, so it is easier to read when it is dark.
The Stengrönska alarm clock lets you set up to three alarms and choose from six volume levels. It has a nine-minute snooze feature. You can charge your smartphone on the wireless charging pad on top. According to the Wireless Power Consortium, it is a Qi 2.1.0-certified 15W charger.
There is a USB-C port on the back for charging a second device, and a charging icon shows up on the screen. The clock has LED strip lighting underneath that softly lights up the surface below, with three brightness options. If you use USB-C power, you can also add two AAA batteries to keep the time and alarm settings during a power outage.
In Japan, the IKEA Stengrönska alarm clock with hygro-/thermometer costs ¥4,999 (about $32). In China, it sells for ¥199 (about $30). IKEA has not said if or when it will launch this product in other places like North America or Europe.
