Authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have barred the use of government machinery and public funds to support a march or rally towards Islamabad, the capital city.
The provincial chief secretary issued an office memorandum directing relevant officials to comply with court orders concerning the planned march.
The memorandum prohibits the use of government vehicles, machinery, equipment, public funds, and officials to facilitate the march or any associated procession.
It was also directed in the memorandum that no government employee should be forced to take part in the march or rally.
Officials have been instructed not to provide assistance or logistical support to the event. If any officer is asked to participate, they have been directed to immediately inform the chief secretary or the inspector general of police.
According to the memorandum, permission should not be granted for rallies that disrupt public movement or obstruct commercial activities, businesses, educational institutions, or medical facilities.
It also prohibits demonstrations that interfere with the peaceful and lawful use of property.
The chief secretary warned that government officials found violating the court orders would face departmental disciplinary action.
