ISLAMABAD: Differences have emerged within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over the strategy for its long march and the party’s political approach following the imposition of Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, sources told ARY News.

According to sources, some members of the PTI core committee criticised the long march strategy during a meeting held on Saturday. Some participants also questioned the planning of the march by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.

Core committee members also expressed reservations about the party’s political strategy after the imposition of Governor’s Rule in the province, sources said.

A key member of the core committee suggested that Barrister Saif should be persuaded to resume an active role in the party, according to sources.

Meanwhile, the PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa parliamentary party has expressed reservations about the political committee formed by Salman Akram Raja.

In a statement, the parliamentary party said decisions should be made through consultation, taking into account ground realities and the views of party members from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The parliamentary party also called for the reactivation of the core committee established by the party’s founder, Imran Khan.

It further proposed assigning Barrister Gohar the main responsibility for matters related to Adiala Jail.

The parliamentary party also called for consideration of a proposal to nominate Barrister Saif as the party’s representative for matters concerning Adiala Jail.
