ISLAMABAD: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested a man accused of making obscene videos of his own children as part of a child sexual abuse material network, according to officials.

NCCIA Additional Director Muhammad Shoaib Khan disclosed the details during a press conference in Islamabad, saying the network sold obscene videos of children through the Telegram app to various international forums and received payments in cryptocurrency.

He said the children targeted by the network were between five and six years old, while the gang’s targets included children aged six to seven.

According to Shoaib Khan, the agency monitored the network for a month before successfully dismantling it after contacting an international forum. Further action against the suspects is underway.

The investigation also uncovered the production and sale of videos showing violence against and sexual abuse of animals, the official said.

The NCCIA is conducting further investigations in Multan, Islamabad and South Punjab to trace the network and establish the extent of its activities.

Shoaib Khan said the agency would also raise awareness among parents about monitoring the content their children access on mobile phones.

He added that action would be taken against parents who fail to report crimes involving their children even after becoming aware of them.
