Rawalpindi (National Desk): In a shocking incident in Taxila, Rawalpindi division, a man allegedly killed his sister, her husband (brother-in-law), and his own wife’s sister (bhabi) with a sharp-edged weapon in the name of honor. The suspect has fled the scene, and Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Police has sought a detailed report from the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi.
According to police, the incident occurred in Mohalla Mashriqi Abad, Street No. 5, Taxila. The victims were identified as Danish Akram, his wife Seema Gul (the suspect’s sister), and Shaila (the suspect’s bhabi). The accused, Najibullah, attacked the three with a sharp weapon, killing them on the spot before escaping.
Police spokesperson said Danish Akram had contracted a love marriage with Seema Gul, which led to a family dispute. Enraged over the marriage, Najibullah committed the triple murder. Forensic teams have collected evidence from the scene, and investigations are underway.
IG Punjab took immediate notice of the incident and directed the RPO Rawalpindi to submit a report. A large-scale search operation has been launched to arrest the fugitive suspect.
This incident is the latest in a series of so-called honor killings in Pakistan, drawing strong condemnation from human rights organizations.
