Citizens whose fingerprints have become faint or are difficult to read by biometric devices no longer need to worry, as the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced an alternative technology to address the issue.
Speaking to the media, a NADRA spokesperson said that the authority had received several complaints from citizens regarding difficulties caused by faint or unreadable fingerprints.
The spokesperson stated that an alternative biometric verification facility has been introduced for citizens who face difficulties during fingerprint identification.
Through this facility, individuals whose fingerprints are unavailable or cannot be accurately detected by biometric devices will also be able to complete the identity verification process.
According to NADRA spokesperson, the new facility aims to address the difficulties faced by citizens whose fingerprints, for any reason, do not appear clearly or cannot be properly detected by biometric devices. Such individuals will now be able to verify their identity through an alternative verification procedure.

Officials further explained that some citizens face difficulties when their fingerprints are unavailable or cannot be accurately recognized by biometric devices. Such issues are particularly encountered during biometric verification at banks and other institutions.
The new facility will provide an alternative means of identity verification for individuals experiencing fingerprint-related difficulties. This is expected to help reduce biometric verification problems faced by citizens at banks and other relevant institutions.
How to obtain the vaccination certificate online
Travelers can apply for the certificate online by visiting the NIMS portal at nims.nadra.gov.pk.
Entering their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) number, date of issue, or passport details.
Provide the requested personal information and security code.
Pay a certificate fee of Rs 100 online using a debit or credit card, JazzCash or Easypaisa.
Download the digital vaccination certificate once payment has been confirmed.
The certificate can also be printed and carried with other travel documents.
The Health Department has advised international passengers to complete the process before arriving at the airport to avoid delays or the risk of missing their flights.
Umrah pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia have been specifically advised to obtain their Nadra vaccination certificate before departure.
All airlines have also been instructed to verify passengers’ vaccination certificates before issuing boarding passes to Umrah pilgrims.
