KP government’s policy is to promote terrorists: Atta Tarar

Attaullah Tarar

ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has alleged that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s policy is aimed at promoting terrorists, ARY News reported.

Addressing a press conference, Tarar said PTI leaders often hold talks and later take a U-turn. He said ensuring law and order in KP is the provincial government’s primary responsibility.

“The PTI has only one policy: how to promote terrorists,” he said, adding that the provincial government takes benefits from Pakistan but stands with Afghanistan.

Tarar said Shafi Jan had stated that the KP government would change its policy on terrorism, adding that a change in the provincial government’s policy would amount to promoting terrorism.

He said blood was being shed in the province while the chief minister’s priority was to secure the release of a prisoner. The federal government had repeatedly asked the KP government to take measures against terrorism, he added.

“You do not want to take action against terrorists. Who stops you from attending the funerals of martyrs?” Tarar said.

He alleged that the PTI mindset was in favour of terrorism and said the provincial government was the only one that did not hold meetings of the Apex Committee.

Tarar said the KP government never condemned the banned TTP and TTA. With such a mindset, he added, the KP government could not stop terrorism.

He further said the KP government was focused only on securing the release of a prisoner. “When those who are supposed to stop terrorism join hands with terrorists, this is what happens,” he said.

Tarar said the KP government also remained silent when drones came from Afghanistan. He claimed that the provincial government had received more than Rs700 billion under the NFC since coming to power.

“You cannot even stand with your own people. You are not capable of running the government,” Tarar said, adding that the KP government had collapsed.

He said the provincial government was focused on the sit-in and added, “Come, we will make complete arrangements.”

Tarar alleged that the KP government’s nexus with terrorists had become clear and claimed that the provincial government wanted terrorists to get more space.

He further alleged that terrorism in the province suited the KP government.
