KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has stated that workers’ remittances from abroad increased during the month of September this year, ARY News reported.
According to the SBP, $3.588 billion in remittances was received during September 2026. Remittances increased by 12.7 percent in September 2026 compared to September 2025.
On the other hand, remittances recorded a 1.9 percent decrease compared to August 2026. Additionally, remittances ticked up by 14 percent during the first quarter of this financial year. Total inflows rose from $9.535 billion to $10.875 billion between July and September.
The highest remittances were received from Saudi Arabia in September 2026, standing at $899.1 million, followed by $748.5 million from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Furthermore, Pakistani citizens living in the UK sent $515 million in September 2026, while $305.9 million was received from the US last month.
