Kuwait’s Ministry of Health has closed four private healthcare facilities following inspections that uncovered violations of licensing regulations.
The ministry said the enforcement action was part of ongoing inspections aimed at ensuring private healthcare facilities comply with licensing requirements and maintain proper standards of patient care.
Authorities found violations involving the operation and investment of healthcare facilities without the required authorization. In one case, a clinic’s license was cancelled after inspectors determined that a third party was operating and investing in the facility under another party’s health license.
The ministry said such arrangements violate Article 15 of Ministerial Resolution No. 36 of 2024 and Paragraph 4 of Article 63 of Law No. 70 of 2020.
Officials stressed that healthcare licenses cannot be transferred, sublet or commercially exploited by unauthorized parties. Violators may face administrative measures, including closure and cancellation of licenses, as well as further legal action.
The Ministry of Health said inspections of private healthcare facilities will continue to ensure compliance with Kuwait’s regulations and safeguard the quality and safety of medical services.

Earlier, Kuwait Municipality expanded its commercial inspection campaign to cover businesses across various sectors, with authorities warning establishments to comply with licensing and municipal approval requirements or face substantial fines and closure.
Eng. Khaled Buarki, Director of the Engineering Licensing Department at the Kuwait Municipality branch in Hawally Governorate, said the campaign is not restricted to a particular commercial sector. It covers all licensed activities that require municipal and technical approvals.
Speaking to Al-Akhbar TV, Buarki said the department is responsible for monitoring building permits, shop licenses and technical approvals required for commercial activities.
He said the inspection campaign covers a wide range of businesses, including restaurants, electrical appliance stores and other commercial establishments. The key criterion is whether the activity operates under a commercial license requiring municipal and technical approval.
