The Punjab government has launched the ‘Punjab Green Credit Program’ to promote cycling and other environmentally friendly activities.
The program encourages residents to participate in environmentally beneficial activities, record them through the program’s Tracker App, and earn Green Credits.
Under the cycling initiative, participants are required to cycle at least 75 km and record their ride using the CM Punjab Green Credit Program Tracker App.
After completing the 75-km distance, participants must submit a photo of their bicycle and proof of the trip recorded through the app on the portal via the MRV form.
Participants can receive Green Credits valued at Rs. 20,000 upon completing the activity.
According to government, the program was initially designed to operate in Lahore before being expanded across Punjab.
The initiative’s slogan promotes cycling, improved health, cleaner air, and a greener Punjab, with the message: “Cycle, save the environment and earn a reward.”
