The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) has denied reports of additional or unauthorized deductions from employees’ salaries, saying the reduction seen in some pay slips this month is due to routine contributions to the General Provident Fund (GPF).
KW&SC Chief Financial Officer Ammar Ali Khan said the GPF deduction did not appear in the payroll system last month because of an upgrade to the SAP system.
He said the deduction had been included in employees’ salaries this month, which may have resulted in some staff receiving lower net pay.
Ammar Khan said the deduction was part of the normal payroll process and was not an additional charge.
Employees who have questions about GPF contributions or any other deductions on their payslips can contact the corporation’s finance department for clarification, he said.
The CFO also said that the corporation had issued pensions to all its pensioners on 30 September.
