LA woman charged after shot fired at Rihanna’s home in FL A Florida woman has been arrested after firing multiple shots toward the Los Angeles property of international pop star Rihanna and her rapper partner A$AP Rocky.
The woman has been identified as 36-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, who was taken into custody by the Los Angeles Police Department shortly after the shooting, which took place in the luxurious neighborhood near the star’s estate. The impact of the shootout was felt in the community, where the singer and her family and staff members were inside the property.
Prosecutors from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said Ortiz drove around the perimeter of the estate before firing an AR-15-style rifle into the estate.
Several rounds with a lot of power went through the estate’s exterior walls, including a guest house and near the family’s living quarters.
First responders were on the scene shortly after reports of gunfire came in, and they quickly secured the perimeter and found Ortiz in her car, where the semi-automatic rifle and other physical evidence relating to the shooting was recovered.
Though the gunfire was deadly serious, police confirmed that neither Rihanna nor A$AP Rocky, their children nor any of the property staff sustained physical injuries to themselves from the incidents.
Ortiz now faces multiple counts of assault with a firearm and shooting into an inhabited dwelling, which will result in lengthy prison sentences if convicted.
While the case against Ortiz is proceeding in Los Angeles Superior Court to explain the attackers’ motivation in the high-profiled attack, the incident spotlighted increasing safety concerns about celebrity estate perimeter control and security at estates of the famous.
