Earlier, Prime Minister Sharif formed a 10-member committee to provide policy guidelines for improving governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following the imposition of Governor’s Rule in the province, ARY News reported.

The committee includes Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar.

Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Sanaullah, Amir Muqam and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry are also part of the committee, along with Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

The committee will provide policy guidelines aimed at improving governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The committee’s first meeting was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.

The meeting reviewed measures taken in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following the imposition of Governor’s Rule.

Earlier, President Asif Ali Zardari had approved the imposition of Governor’s Rule and an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following a summary moved on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The presidential proclamation cited a sharp increase in terrorist incidents and serious security threats as grounds for the extraordinary constitutional measures.

It stated that attacks on government installations and law enforcement agencies had increased, posing significant risks to public safety and order.

The proclamation also stated that the provincial government had failed to take adequate measures to address terrorism and lawlessness.

It further referred to a report by the governor that raised concerns about disruptions in the constitutional system and the functioning of the provincial government.
