MDCAT 2026 set for Sunday; Sindh establishes 9 exam centers

KARACHI: The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 will be held across the country on Sunday, September 20. Examination centers have been established in Karachi, interior Sindh, Islamabad, and other major cities nationwide.

A total of nine examination centers have been set up in Sindh, including two in Karachi and seven others across Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, and Sukkur.

Karachi (NED University of Engineering and Technology): A total of 6,000 candidates will appear at this center, comprising 4,632 female and 1,368 male students.

Karachi (Dow University of Health Sciences, Ojha Campus): A total of 4,964 candidates will take the test, including 3,778 female and 1,186 male students.

Hyderabad (Public School, Unit No. 3, Latifabad): A single center serving 5,000 candidates, consisting of 2,762 female and 2,238 male students.

Jamshoro (Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences – LUMHS): Set up for 4,627 candidates, comprising 2,618 female and 2,009 male students.

Mirpurkhas (Mir Sher Muhammad Talpur School): Designated for 2,093 candidates, including 1,065 female and 1,028 male students.

Shaheed Benazirabad (Quaid-e-Awam University): Serving 2,562 candidates, comprising 1,642 female and 920 male students.

Larkana (Police Training School Ground, Wagon Road): A total of 3,123 candidates will take the exam at this location.

Sukkur (IBA Public School, Gate No. 3, Old Airport Road): A total of 5,557 candidates are set to appear.

Islamabad (Pakistan National Council of the Arts – PNCA, Sector F-5/1): Serving candidates appearing in the federal capital.

On the other hand, the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 will be held tomorrow, Sunday, September 20, across 15 cities in Punjab, with as many as 19,201 candidates taking the test.

In Lahore, six centers have been established, where 12,030 candidates will appear for the test. Among them, 9,150 are female and 2,880 are male candidates.

A substantial number of female students will take the test at the Punjab University Examination Hall on Wahdat Road, where 4,400 girls are registered.

Additionally, 1,600 female candidates will appear at the Lahore College for Women University, and another 1,620 will take the test at the University of Education, Township.

For male candidates, 881 students will appear at the Divisional Public School, Township, while 2,000 boys will participate at the Board of Intermediate Examination Hall on Lawrence Road.

Furthermore, 1,525 candidates (both boys and girls) will appear for MDCAT 2026 at the COMSATS University Lahore campus.

Strict security measures have been implemented. Entrances, exits, and examination halls will be monitored through CCTV cameras across all centers in Lahore, with the Punjab Safe Cities Authority providing 24-hour surveillance.

Additionally, NADRA biometric verification has been made mandatory for all students appearing for MDCAT 2026.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) Sohail Sabir personally visited various examination centers in Lahore to review arrangements, security, and facilities for the test.

Across the province, 3,700 supervisory staff members have been deployed, and Section 144 has been imposed around all examination centers.

Walk-through gates and metal detectors have also been installed at every center.

Candidates will be allowed to enter the examination centers starting at 7:30 AM, and all gates will be strictly sealed at 9:00 AM.

All administrative, security, and police arrangements for MDCAT 2026 have been fully finalized.
