Meta has introduced the 3rd-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses, alongside the Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses. The new Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) offers a better design, longer battery life, and several new features.
The Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) glasses come in three styles: Aviator, Wayfarer, and Zena, which features a cat-eye frame. To mark the 90th anniversary, there is also a limited-edition Aviator in a limited-edition color. Customers can choose from 27 color and lens combinations.
The Ray-Ban smart glasses include a 12MP camera that can record in 3K. An LED light lets others know when you are recording or taking a photo. The glasses support hands-free capturing and dynamic photos. With 32GB of storage, you can save up to 1,000 photos or more than 100 thirty-second videos.
Meta says the glasses now have a 6-microphone array that reduces over 90% of background noise, even in windy or busy places, making calls and voice commands clearer. Later this year, the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) will support recording videos in Dolby Atmos with 360-degree spatial sound. Meta claims these will be the first consumer devices to offer this feature.
The Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) glasses now include an action button to activate Meta AI. Battery life has improved from 8 hours on Gen 2 to 9 hours, and the charging case provides up to 50 extra hours. The glasses work with Android 10+ and iOS 17+ devices and connect using Bluetooth 5.3.
The smart glasses are now available on the Meta online store. Prices start at $449 in the US, €449 in Europe, and £409 in the UK.
